The House of Illustration and The Folio Society are collaborating on a new book illustration competition. The winning entry will form part of a Folio Society commission for a book which will be published in August 2011, for which the winner will receive £4,000. LYRICS AND TYPE is an ongoing international type and illustration initiative founded by Timba Smits, the creator of the award winning arts culture publication Wooden Toy Quarterly.

Bill Watterson interview

Calvin and Hobbes may have been my favorite comic of all time and the reclusive creator, Bill Watterson, recently gave his first interview since 1989. The interview is not very enlightening, but you have to take what you can get from a man that is so private.

Neill Cameron, a British freelance illustrator did 26 drawings over 26 days, one for each letter of the alphabet. This is my favorite of the 26 Illustrations.
